The International Offshore Rule class of sailboats that raced from the 70’s to the mid 90’s are having an event in Sanremo starting July 9th. The Sanremo Yacht Club and the IOR Association are sponsoring a cultural and sporting meeting for owners, crews or simply fans. There will be displays of the naval architecture, as well as the social, historical and cultural aspects that characterized those years.  The event runs through Sunday the 12th. Art Exhibition: Andrew Vicari

In Vence, there is an art exhibition of Welsh artist Andrew Vicari. The Monaco-based painter was named "European Artist of the Year" in 1995. He is a figurative painter and his subject matter often reflects time spent in the Arabian peninsula and Persian Gulf. Van Dyck Incisore

There is an exhibition of engravings by Antoine van Dyck. Dating from approximately 1626, the works were begun after van Dyck's travels in Italy and include never-before-done etched portraiture. The collection, one of the most important of this genre, is divided into three sections, corresponding to the ranks of the people portrayed: princes and generals; state personalities and intellectuals; and artists and collectors. The exhibtion is in Albenga at the Gallery of Modern Art, Piazza S. Michele #4. The entry fee is €6. Open Tuesday through Sunday, Winter hours are 10:00-12:30 and 4:00-6:00, Summer hours are 10:00-12:30 and 4:00-7:30. The exhibition runs through September 20th.
